We've all known about LEED certified buildings. Buildings that are LEED guaranteed balance environment effect of construction process and materials, energy efficiency, waste disposal and a variety of different components to set new standards for sustainability and environmental impact.
On the off chance a similar rating system existed for vehicles. Unfortunately, such does not exist, leaving buyers to assess fuel type and fuel economy while figuring out which car is best for the environment. Such assurance is rarely scientific, and depends on a great deal of assumptions, for example lists of best vehicles for the environment generated from twitter followers (how's that for objectivity?) and records including each electric vehicle available to be purchased in the U.S. (comprehensive , though shallow).
When we think about environment, we have to think further than gas versus electric and MPG. We have to consider where products and materials are sourced, to what extent a vehicle will last, practical manufacturing processes, how far merchandise are transported and an automaker's general commitment to the environment. This analytics is complicated, including a great deal of trade offs and weighing of priorities.
Along these lines, for our rundown, instead of discretionarily choosing what we believe are the best vehicles for the environment by means of capricious formula, we are going to list vehicles built by makers who we believe are making a solid commitment to environment stewardship, and give a few examples with respect to why these vehicles and the entities who manufacture them are exhibiting a commitment to the environment.

America’s best-selling vehicle for the first half of 2018, the Ford F-150 is a perennial favorite for the shopper seeking a truck that can rack up the miles, haul the big loads and comfortably fit a family in style. Various engine options offer shoppers a choice between efficiency, power, and pep; we prefer the 6.4-liter PowerStroke clean-diesel which produces an impressive 350 horsepower. Manufactured in Dearborn Michigan in an assembly plant that is home to the world’s largest living roof, the Ford F-150 relies on local glass, steel, and componentry, reducing the carbon footprint used in the manufacturing process. While it takes 12 hours to charge on a standard 32-amp 240-volt connector, a network of superchargers provide quick, affordable charging for those on-the-go. Like all electric vehicles, acceleration is swift and handling is agile. Like all Tesla’s, the interior is uncluttered and neatly finished. As an added bonus, the Model 3 is manufactured in a re-purposed factory, thereby conserving materials and reusing existing infrastructure as opposed to unnecessarily building on a greenfield site.
